Historically, there are 108 heroes of the famous bandit and they tied the knot in the room together Faithfulness (English: Hall of Loyalty). Their headquarters are in Mountain Liangshanpo, surrounded by the sea and the water so hard to be attacked. They have up to tens of thousands of members.
The author of this novel is the Shi Nai-an (Hanzi: 施耐庵) with the help of Luo Guanzhong. But actually, there are allegations that there was no one named Shi Nai-an and Shi Nai-an is a pseudonym of Luo own.
